Here are some pictures and a description from yesterday’s visit to The Magnus Academy.
The STEM day had a Charlie and the chocolate factory theme. The children rotated around a carousel of Maths, Science, Technology and Engineering activities culminating in producing a chocolate coin to take home.
In the maths lesson they entered Wonka’s packaging room, using their mathematical and problem solving skills to make a box to put the chocolate coin in. In the science lesson they experimented with Wonka’s different ingredients and found out where the Umpa Lumpas came from. In the engineering lesson they stepped into Wonka’s production room making moulds to pour their chocolate in to and in the technology lesson they entered Wonka’s chocolate factory to make their chocolate coin.
Students got an experience of Magnus, working with Magnus teachers and students.
