This year we are looking at a range of topics, including the Rainforest and the Romans. This half term, Year 4 are studying the Ancient Greeks, where we will be learning about the different Greek gods, looking at Ancient Greek buildings and exploring Greek pottery. During our Art lessons, we will be creating our own Greek vase, using the techniques and skills we have learnt from the Ancient Greeks.
Year 4 have an exciting trip to look forward to this year. We will be heading to Sheringham at the end of January. Here we will take part in activities such as zip lining, archery and high ropes, where we will be walking amongst the tree tops. In addition to this, we will be taking a trip to the local beach, where we will be studying coastal erosion. During this trip, our aim is to work as a team, challenge ourselves to complete new activities and of course to have fun!
Reading is something we love to do and we really hope you can share this experience with your child. We ask you to listen to your child read daily and write a note in their diary to let the teacher know how they got on.
In Year 4, P.E is done every week. It is very important that each child brings their own P.E kit (shorts, t-shirt and plimsoles) and keeps this in school each half term. Monday is our swimming day, so ensure your child has their swimming kit each week. This is a valuable life skill that all children should take part in.
The Year 4 team (Mrs Middleton, Mrs Sandells and Miss Terry) are always available and happy to discuss any queries you may have.
